William Shering - Funeral Celebrant based in the New Forest

I have lived in the New Forest, Hampshire and Avon Valley area all my life. I was educated at Bishop Wordsworth's School, Salisbury in Wiltshire.

I am a non-denominational Funeral Celebrant. I uphold the values of Love, Respect, Family, Freedom and a Good Life - irrespective of one's creed or chosen outlook. This means I am able to hold a ceremonial space for both religious and non-religious ceremonies and celebrations of life. I bring a blank canvas, with suggestions, experience and guidance to help you and your family members create the funeral service that most suits you and reflects your loved one.

I come from a long line of Funeral Directors (or Undertakers as my father would have said). I grew up helping my father in his work as an Undertaker, carrying my first coffin at the age of 13 years (I was tall). Then after a career as a teacher in Wiltshire and Dorset I came back to funerals as a Funeral Celebrant 6 years ago.

I have also been involved in music-making in the community all my life, from singing in, and later conducting the church choir, to forming a choral society and now running the choir "One Voice" that sings popular music - and I teach mandolin.

My wife Caroline is a Doctor and we have two boys.
